Scott Hoots, President
Scott joined us in September 2017 as President of Pet Wants with a diverse background in franchised urgent care, QSR, and retail businesses. Scott brings expertise in operations, franchise development, franchisee relations, and compliance to the brand that will be beneficial in helping the Pet Wants system achieve success. Scott is a Certified Franchise Executive as recognized by the International Franchise Association and has been effectively leading franchise systems for the past 25 years. Scott most recently served as Vice President of Franchise Operations at AFC Franchising, LLC, the largest franchised urgent care company in the US operating under the brand name American Family Care. Under Scott’s leadership AFC was named “Zor of the Year” by Franchise Times magazine, recognizing the brand as the best franchise to buy in healthcare. In 2015 Scott and AFC were also recognized as a “Dealmaker of the Year” for the completion of a unique franchise deal where he signed a leading healthcare system in South Carolina on as a franchisee and area developer. In his 25 year franchise experience Scott has also been in leadership positions with Domino’s Pizza (where he was named 2003 Global Operations Director of the Year), 1-800-flowers, and Ripley Entertainment.
Chris Semen, Strategic Franchising COO
Before his success with Caring Transitions, Chris previously served in various senior executive positions, including Vice President with Mr. Handyman International. Chris is a firm believer in franchising and the franchise model, having gained this belief through his experience as a franchise executive and by owing his own franchise. Chris owned and operated a successful Mr. Handyman franchise and knows firsthand the critical importance of having a world class training, marketing and operational support programs in place for franchise owners at all levels of the system. After five years of amazing growth and success with Caring Transitions, Chris was promoted to be the COO for all five Strategic Franchising brands to help spread his ideas and proven systems throughout the company.

Steve Kwon, Senior VP of Franchise Development
Before joining Pet Wants as the Senior VP of Franchising, Steve Kwon already had a successful history in franchising, taking emerging companies and turning them into national powerhouses. For more than 20 years, his boundless energy and contagious enthusiasm has catapulted the franchises he has touched into unprecedented new heights – such as Mathnasium, which became a premier afterschool supplemental education franchise under his leadership as VP of Franchising. Mr. Kwon brings his high-octane leadership style to Pet Wants as the Senior VP of Franchising. Bringing all his previous experience and pairing it with his seemingly endless energy and drive, Mr. Kwon and his team are helping hundreds navigate their path to business ownership through the Pet Wants franchise.

Dan Murphy, Strategic Franchising EVP
In addition to his leadership role with Strategic Franchising, Dan is also President and Co-Founder of Franchise Funding Group, LLC, the retired CEO/Co-Founder of The Growth Coach franchise system, and co-developer/equity partner and current Board Member of five national franchise systems: Caring Transitions, TruBlue House Care, Pet Wants, Growth Coach, and Fresh Coat. Franchise Funding Group (FFG) helps entrepreneurs to scale their existing and successful businesses nationally through a franchise model. FFG is like Shark Tank for Franchising…they function as investors and strategic partners in the franchising sector. Prior to getting into franchising in 2002, Dan owned his own business coaching company for over a decade and helped hundreds of small business owners and entrepreneurs achieve greater success and personal balance. Before that, he was a CPA, Audit Manager, and Director of Business Development with the international accounting/consulting firm of Deloitte & Touche for seven years. Dan is also a frequent public speaker on franchising and business success, enjoys mentoring the next generation of entrepreneurs, and is the author of the book, Becoming a Strategic Business Owner. He loves helping others and himself live a more fulfilling and exciting life by following his personal motto, Feed Your Dreams, Starve Your Fears®.

Joe Grimes, Strategic Franchising CFO
Joe has been CFO for Pet Wants and our affiliated brands Growth Coach, Fresh Coat, Caring Transitions, and TruBlue since March 2017. He came to our company from Bakery Crafts, in West Chester, Ohio, where he served as Controller. Until December 2013, Joe was the Global Product Supply Forecast manager for the Iams Corporation, a division of the Procter & Gamble Company, in Mason, Ohio.

Jeff Siehl, General Counsel, VP, Secretary
Jeff has been our General Counsel and Secretary since August 2015 and Vice President since February 2018. He has been the General Counsel and Secretary of our affiliates Growth Coach, Fresh Coat and Caring Transitions since September 2007, of TruBlue since May 2011, and has been Vice President of these affiliates since February 2018. He was General Counsel of H.H. Franchising Systems, Inc. in Cincinnati, Ohio from September 2007 through February 1, 2018. From July 2002 to September 2007, Jeff practiced law with Squire, Sanders & Dempsey, L.L.P. in Cincinnati, Ohio.

Mary Ann Chadwell, Office Coordinator
Mary Ann is our Office Coordinator and the voice you’ll hear whenever you call the Pet Wants office in Cincinnati. She has several years of experience in the advertising industry with reports, graphics, and support. Mary Ann coordinates with all of our staff in various projects, and also assists both existing and potential franchise owners find the right expert to get their questions answered.

Paula has over 25 years of experience in Administrative Support, specializing in Sales and Project Management. Additionally, she has extensive experience in Customer Service, which she now uses at Fresh Coat to aid the team in our Sales Process, ensuring all of our work is finalized perfectly.
